Last night, at the USATF 10,000m championships, Olympian Joe Klecker won his first title in a terribly close and difficult 10,000m. It was not that the pace was so fast, it was the humidity, the tension, and the stress of knowing that only 3 make the team. The last mile was run in 4:14, the last 1200 in just about 3 minutes, the last 800m in 1:55 and a final lap in 54.6 seconds! Still, the separation between Joe Klecker and AR record holder Grant Fisher was by centimeters! What a race. (You can watch it on Runnerspace and USATF TV).
