Ghanaian forward Aaron Opoku has justified why he celebrated scoring against his former club Hamburger SV on Saturday in the German Bundesliga 2.

The 24-year-old scored the second goal in Kaiserslautern’s 2-0 win after being on the pitch for only 6 minutes.

Opoku celebrated his goal with unusual exuberance by dancing and explain that he will always celebrate his goals his way.

“I said if I score a goal, I will celebrate, 100 percent," he told Bild.

“I don't really care who it's against. And then, several weeks ago, I made up my mind to celebrate something.

“It doesn't matter who it's against if I score the goal. The fact that it's against the ex-club just sucks for them, but then I don't really care. We kept three points here and the rest doesn't matter.”

Aaron Opoku, who started his career at Hamburger SV in 2011 and embarked on several loan spells before finally leaving to join Kaiserslautern in August 2022.
