Bournemouth manager, Andoni Iraola, has explained that Antoine Semenyo was substituted against Nottingham Forest due to technical reasons and has nothing to do with an injury.
He said this in a post-game presser following Bournemouth’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League.
The Ghana international lasted 45 minutes in the contest and was replaced by Marcus Tavernier.
Asked whether Semenyo’s substitution was due to a suspected injury like Ryan Christie’s, Iraola confirmed that was not the case.
“No injury. It was a technical decision. He could have continued," Iraola said.
Semenyo has bagged three goals and two assists in 18 league appearances in the 2023-2024 season.
The promising striker featured in Ghana's campaign at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) where the country who were hoping to win their fifth continental title suffered a group phase elimination in Group B with just two points after three games.
