Ghana international Alexander Djiku wants to join his compatriot Kamaldeen Sulemana at Stade Rennes.

Djiku, who will be out of contract next year at Strasbourg has become subject of interest for several clubs including Rennes, Sevilla and Villarreal.

Earlier reports suggest Djiku has agreed a 3-year deal with Spanish giants Sevilla this summer.

But Footballghana.com has gathered the enterprising defender prefers a move to the Ligue 1 club.

Rennes wants to sign the Ghanaian defender as replacement for Moroccan Nayef Aguerd who is on the verge of joining West Ham United.

The Morocco international is closing in on a €40m transfer to the Premier League side, however, West Ham shortlisted Djiku among as one of the possible replacements.

Meanwhile, Strasbourg have set a prize tag of €10m for Djiku.
