The President of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo, has bought into the Ghana Football Association’s idea of sinking boreholes at various parts of the country.

He believes this will solve the problem of bad pitches that has engulfed the Ghana Premier League for issues.

The Ghana Football Association started the initiative about a year ago and has started launching some of the boreholes.

Asked how he thinks the issue of bad pitches can be solved, he opined that the sinking of the boreholes will gradually solve the issue.

“That is the reason the Ghana Football Association is sinking some boreholes to help in the irrigation system of pitches,” Fianoo said on the sidelines of an event attended by footballghana.com.

“The ingredient for good pitch is regular supply of water so when we get regular water, definitely you will see the green pitch.

“I think it is also a step in the right direction by sinking those boreholes to help in the irrigation of the pitches.

“A good pitch will definitely give you good football. The target is to have good pitches.”
