The government is setting a new course for Ghana's Borteyman Sports Complex as part of an ambitious push to strengthen the country's sports environment.

Revealed by Deputy Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Bawa Abdul Majeed, the ambitious plan entails evolving the recently inaugurated facility into a pioneering University for Sports Development.

"The plan for this facility is that, after government won the bid for this program, they put up a comprehensive plan to turn this place into a University for Sports Development and that is the plan moving forward," he told Citi Sports.

"If you look at the edifice here today in Borteyman, the land is there and lot of investment will be added, there alot of offices here that they would want to the University immediately, it will make sense for it.

"The government’s plan is to turn this place into a University for Sports Development and that is what is board for the Borteyman Sports Complex,"

Black Satellites and Black Princesses will represent Ghana in football at the African Games. The Black Princesses of Ghana are in Group A alongside Tanzania, Uganda, and Ethiopia.

The Black Satellites are in Group A with Benin, Congo, and Gambia.

The African Games will end on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
