Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah played the full 90 minutes as his side San Jose Earthquakes beat Houston Dynamo 2-1 at PayPal Park in the Major League Soccer on Sunday dawn.

Cristian Espinoza scored twice from the spot to hand San Jose all the three points.

The win gives the hosts 10 points from 6 games, leaving them 5th on the league standings.

Uruguayan Espinoza opened the scoring seven minutes in from the spot to give San Jose the lead against Dynamo.

In a game that produced three penalties, the visitors pulled level through Moroccan Amine Bassi's effort from 12 yards with three minutes to the end of the first half.

Five minutes after the hour mark, Espinoza again maintained his composure from the spot to convert the winner for his side.

32-year-old Jonathan Mensah has completed the 90 minutes in all of their six Major League Soccer games in the 2023 season after switching from Columbus Crew at the start of the season.
