Ghana crashed out of the 2022 World Cup on Friday evening at the Al Janoub Stadium. Uruguay beat Ghana 2-0 but exited the tournament with Black Stars after South Korea beat Group H leaders Portugal 2-1.

During the game against Uruguay problems which has confronted the team right from the first game at the Stadium 947 against Portugal were very visible again.

The team's defensive organization was always all over the place there seem to be no structure or plan to defend set pieces and reshape when the team was in their own half trying to defend against the opponents attacking play.

Ghana's total concentration level in some stages during the three games played in Group H was very bad and shocking. Against Portugal, in the first game, Ghana conceded in the 78th and 80th minute (3 minutes), against South Korea Ghana conceded in the 58th and 61st minute (4 minutes) and against Uruguay Ghana conceded in the 26th and 32nd minute (7 minutes).

Otto Addo didn't know when to substitute a player, start players and make quick in-game decisions. Against South Korea, in the second half the Korean game plan changed from using set pieces to using crosses and long balls. But Ghana allowed the Koreans to cross and use long balls from the right constantly which resulted in them scoring two goals. Nothing was done to counter their crossing and long ball tactic throughout the second half. Per Sofascore - South Korea's long balls in the second half: 23/34 (74%) and crosses 12/29 (41%). Ghana's long ball and crosses in the second half: 7/26 (27%) and 0/5 (0%) respectively.

The team had a lot of creative and technically gifted players but it seems the plans of the coach suppressed Ghana's ability to hurt teams.

Ghana's lackadaisical pressing style and nonexistent midfield were a joke at some point in all three group games. The dramatic win against South Korea seems to have covered the big problems in the team. Ghanaians thought the team will get a positive result against Uruguay but it was a repeat of the same problems seen in the first and second group games.

Inaki Williams was a lonely figure up front he had to feed off scraps and sometimes drop deep to get the ball. He had no help from the midfield and wide areas.

This team has so much potential there should be a few additions and subtractions and a coach who can unlock and unleash the enormous talent available.
