Bochum coach Thomas Reis will not rush to play Ghanaian defender Jordi Osei-Tutu.
The English-born Ghanaian right-back completed his return to the German club recently from the English side Arsenal.
He missed the clubs first preseason game Wuppertal SV due to injury.
But Osei Tutu was able to feature in the side 1-1 stalemate against FC Monheim last Thursday.
Despite the coach expressing delight about Osei-Tutu’s appearance in the preseason game, he indicated he would be introduced step by step.
"He's been playing a lot lately. Nevertheless, we have to look at him step by step. I'm glad he's been able to play, but he has a lot more potential. That flashed a few times.”
Osei-Tutu spent half of the 2021-22 season at Rotherham United where he joined them in January 2022 and went ahead to make 14 appearances in the English League One and two appearances in the EFL trophy.
During the 2019/20 season he played on loan for Bochum where he had an impressive outing with them with 5 goals in 21 matches in the Bundesliga 2 as he mostly played as a winger.
