Black Stars legend, Stephen Appiah is hoping there will be a time when former players will be in charge of football administration in the country.
According to him, football will be best run by former players who have built connections and know what the sport really entails.
Speaking to Sompa FM, Stephen Appiah said even if he does not get the chance to lead football administration in the future, he hopes to see other former players in key roles.
“Sometimes the legends, the former players don’t get the chance. I have observed that football is run by footballers. It is not about the grammar that you will use. I hope that one of us will one day have the chance to come and lead Ghana football.
“Some of us are very humble…We all want to help,” Stephen Appiah said.
The ex-Black Stars midfielder further disclosed that he once used to pay the winning bonuses of players in the national team to motivate them to play for the national team.
