Ghana Premier League side, Hearts of Oak have issued a press release to react to an allegation by coach Bashiru Hayford.
The former Ashanti Gold SC gaffer in an interview with Akoma FM during the week said he had been contacted by officials of the Phobians over the possibility of taking over as head coach.
But in a release today, Hearts of Oak said the claim is untrue.
“The Management of Accra Hearts of Oak denies media reports that the club has recently held talks with Coach Bashiru Hayford to take up the coaching job at the club.
“The report, captioned (Bashiru Hayford confirms Hearts of Oak talks), carries no iota of truth and should therefore be disregarded with immediate effect,” parts of a release from Hearts of Oak said.
It continued, “We call on all Phobians not to fall to this propaganda but continue to throw support behind the team as we go through the 2023-2024 football season.”
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak have urged supporters to back coach Martin Koopman as the head coach of the club.
“Coach Martinus Hendrikus Koopman remains our head coach and has the full backing of the club.
“We call on all Phobians to give him the maximum support and peace of mind to perform his duties,” the release from Hearts of Oak added.
