Heart of Lions President Dr Randy Abbey has revealed that they were desperate to return to playing at their traditional home ground in the second round of the Ghana Premier League.
The Ghana top flight returnees played their first match at the Kpando Sports Stadium on Sunday where they beat Asante Kotoko 1-0 in their first league game at that venue in over eight years.
Heart of Lions played the entire first half of the season at adapted home grounds and it impacted their results, taking them as far as fourteen games to win their first league game.
Speaking after the Kotoko game, Abbey told Max TV, “We are not done yet, we were desperate to come back home so we needed to ensure that we put the place in shape.
“You can see that there is still work ongoing and I am sure that anytime you come here you will see an improvement. Eventually when it is done you’d see what we intend to make of this place.”
