FC Koln, a professional football club based in Cologne, Germany, has been in the news recently regarding the contract situation of one of its players, Kingsley Schindler.

The team's head coach, Steffen Baumgart, has taken the opportunity to clarify the situation for fans and the media. Baumgart's comments provide insight into the negotiations between the club and Schindler, shedding light on the player's future with the team.

Kingsley Schindler was allowed to feature from the start after two games on the substitutes' bench and a subsequent short appearance against Dortmund.

In the past, there was speculation that the player would leave FC Köln when his contract expired at the end of the season. This is also due to the sporting situation the 29-year-old has mostly only acted as a substitute this season.

"King is not about to depart," Baumgart clarifies. "that we deal with the situation when the contract expires is normal," he added.

"He had a difficult phase in November. Two games didn't go so well for him, we know that too. But he works and does. He didn't become a national player (Ghana) for nothing,"

"He played the eight today and from my point of view did it very, very well. But I can say about all the boys that they perform and march. King is one of them,”
