Chairman of the Upper East Regional Football Association (UERFA) Alhaji Salifu Shaibu Zida's 3-day regional refresher course for referees ahead of start of 2023-24 league season second round ended successfully.
The country's top-flight as well as Division One League and regional football league went on three weeks break, expected to resume mid-February.
Following this, the astute football administrator Salifu Shaibu Zida who happens to be the bank roller of former Ghana Premier league side, Bolga All Stars SC took the opportunity to organise a three-day refresher course for match officials within the Upper East Region. The course which began from Friday February 2 to Sunday February 4, saw the referees being refreshed with disciplinary checks and updated with new trends of the game.
The course which was held at the Bolga Technical Institute wasn't selective, as the Regional Football Association offered platform to all referees within the region including Premier league referees, division one league referees, women's league referees, regional referees and catch them young referees with hope of improving their performance in the second round of the season.
At the end of the course, Alhaji Salifu Shaibu Zida took the opportunity to hand over items precure by Ghana Football Association for catch them young referees to the Regional referees Manager Bernard Dufie and wish them with successful in their campaign.
"I'm with much gratitude, all made this course your priority and making it a success. The region has always been proud of you, especially the level of discipline attached to your duty" Many of us, are proud with the growth in officiating exhibited at the highest level"
"Nonetheless, let’s all stand by each other and make ourselves and the region proud with all that we learnt during this 3-days", Salifu Zida said.
